This fall I return to Opera Colorado as a Young Artist, singing Romeo in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette, Ivan in The Music Shop, and Count Almaviva in the February 2010 matinee production of The Barber of Seville, with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
Opera Colorado
For the 2009 season, I joined Opera Colorado as an Ensemble Artist. Major projects included La Cenerentola (Ramiro) and The Music Shop (Ivan) outreach tours, an art song recital of Duparc and Argento, and a mainstage appearance as Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte.
Don Pasquale
In October 2008, I sang my first full Donizetti role in Longwood Opera's production of Don Pasquale. Our superb cast and directing team made great theatre of this virtuosic staple of the bel canto repertory. Ernesto's C-sharps (and the occasional E-flat, weather permitting) got my fall off to a roaring, high-flying start!
Aspen Opera Theater Center
This past summer at the Aspen Music Festival, I sang the role of Dean in a staged workshop performance of California Fictions, a new electro-acoustic opera by composer-DJ Mason Bates.
More G&S - HMS Pinafore in Concord
Following on the great success of Pirates, in April '08 I appeared as Ralph Rackstraw with the Concord Orchestra and Concord Players.
Stephen Paulus - The Three Hermits
In February 2008 I sang the role of the Fisherman in this contemporary opera at Harvard's Memorial Church.
Pirates of Penzance
Earlier in February '08, I had an exhilarating run as Frederic in this hilarious Gilbert & Sullivan classic. Thanks to the amazing cast and production team at Riverside Theatre Works for making the show an unqualified success on all fronts!
Boston Lyric Opera - Opera New England
The Barber of Seville!
In April 2007, I toured New England as Count Almaviva in this Opera New England outreach production of Rossini's famous comedy.
Opera Theatre of St. Louis
As a Gerdine Young Artist at Opera Theatre of St. Louis in 2007, I appeared with the company in productions of La Traviata, The Mikado, and I Puritani.
Tanglewood Fellowship
In June 2006, I was Candide in a Bernstein on Broadway program with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops. The New York Times and Boston Globe had some nice praise for our cast in Hindemith's Hin und Zurück, the opener to Tanglewoood's Festival of Contemporary Music.
